Here is an array of photo's not included elsewhere in this site.

Here's a great picture sent to me by Nancy and Bob Butte, Bob being the gr grandson of Hazel Rignal "Tode" and wife Nancy Ann "Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.  Tidy is the lady in the white dress, Tode is the gentleman to her left.  I have no idea who the others in the picture are, BUT, they look like they are straight from Shakespere!!!!.....look at that dude on the far right!!!!!  If anyone can identify the others in this picture I sure would love having the information!!!!

Here's a great picture sent to me by Cathleen (Butt) Lovetere, a descendant of Noah Fasset and wife Lucinda E. Kasson.

I am not certain who all these people are.  Cathleen has been told that the one on the far left sitting is Mahala and that the gentleman with the full beard sitting next to her is Noah Fasset.  As noted in the above article, Mahala died December 5, 1884.  At the time of Mahala's death, Noah Fasset would have been 50 years old.  Her oldest child, Leroy Hamilton would have been 57 years old.  The gentleman with the full beard appears to be near 70, and by comparing this picture to the others above, he does not appear to be Leroy Hamilton.

Bazil Butt died in 1854.  He was 57 years old at the time.

Noah and Lucinda had five children: Cora Patience, William Ervin, Pearl Anna, Fred K. and Don.  They were born in 1856, 1858, 1863, 1869 and 1873 respectively.

There are three other men in this picture.  It might be that they are the three sons of Noah and Lucinda.  Then there are six women, three of whom could be wives of the three sons, two of whom could be the daughters of Noah and Lucinda and the last could be Lucinda herself.

I will hope someone can help me out with this.  Any one who can add to the identification of those in this picture is encouraged to do so.  These have all got to be people who we would all like to have positively identified.

In any event, thank you very much Cathleen for this wonderful picture.

Here's a picture sent to me by Lou Anne (Brake) Kirby.  This William Ervin Butt is a son of Noah Fassett "Woof" Butt and wife Lucinda E. Kasson.  This Mirvin (Mervin B.) Kasson is the son of Royal Kasson and wife Charlotte Goodrich Butt, the latter of course being the daughter of Bazil and Mahala.  The two below were first cousins, their common ancestors being Daniel Dennis KASSON and wife Elizabeth BARBER.

These photo's were provided by the wife of a great grandson of Hazel Rignal "Tode" Butt and wife Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.  Below each photo I have added some information.

Orr Butt was the son of Miles Edward Butt and wife Cordelia (Chase) Butt.  Miles Edward Butt was the son of Hazel Rignal and wife Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.  Hazel Rignal Butt was a son of Bazil and Mahala (Green) Butt.

Darwin Butt was the son of John Corwin "Jack" Butt and wife Francis Hill, daughter of Andrew Hill and wife Mima Johnson.  John Corwin Butt was the son of Hazel Rignal "Tode" Butt and wife Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.

Paul Butt was the son of Burr Butt and wife Emma Shuey.  Burr Butt was the son of Leroy Hamilton Butt and wife Clarissa Overturf.  Leroy Hamilton Butt and Hazel Rignal Butt were brothers, both sons of Bazil and Mahala (Green) Butt.

Van Green was the son of Homer Noah Green and wife Rovena (Van Fossen) Hutchins, daughter of George W. VanFossen and wife Fanny Lake and widow of Mr. Hutchins.  Homer Noah Green was the son of Russell Bigalow Green who was a brother to Mahala Green, wife of Bazil Butt.

To my knowledge Paul Emerson was not related to the Butt and Green people.  He became an undertaker as did his son.

Here are four great pictures from Melodee Currier of Columbus, Ohio.  Melodee is a gr gr gr grand daughter of Bazil and Mahala (Green) Butt.  Her gr gr grandparents were Hazel Rignal "Tode" and Nancy Ann (Tippett) Butt.  Many thanks go to Melodee and her husband for sending me this pictures.  Now we can all enjoy them.

Each of these four pictures have writing on the back.  Below each picture I have typed what that writing is.

Again, thank you very much Melodee.  If anyone can add any more information to these pictures, please let me know.

The maiden name of Ruth Eva Butt was Ruth Eva Priest.  Her husband was Donald Ervin Butt.  The parents of Donald Ervin Butt were Claude Fasset and wife Byrd Lee (Ammons) Butt.  The parents of Claude Fasset Butt were William Ervin and wife Margaret Estella "Maggie" (Haugh) Butt.  The parents of William Ervin Butt were Noah Fasset "Woof" and Lucinda E. (Kasson) Butt.  Noah Fasset Butt was a son of Bazil and Mahala (Green) Butt.

Celia Blamer was the daughter of Hazel Oller Blamer and wife Ida McFarland.  Hazel Blamer was the son of John Blamer and Mary "Polly" Houston.  Mary Houston was the daughter of Andrew Houston and wife Elizabeth Green.  Elizabeth Green was the sister of George Green, Mahala Green's father and therefore Mahala's aunt.

Gail Butt was the son of Friend "Tida" Butt and wife Emma Knorr, daughter of Christian Knorr and wife Rosa Brown.  Friend Butt was the son of Hazel Rignal "Tode" and wife Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.

Clyde Butt was Gail Butt's brother.

Van Green is discussed above.

I do not know who Gladys Patton Green would be.

Paul Emerson is discussed above.

Lester Priest owned an automobile repair shop in Johnstown.

Leona Pratt Perfect and her husband owned a butcher shop and food locker in Johnstown, Ohio which is still in business.

Gail Butt is discussed above, as is Lester Priest, Clyde Butt and Darwin Butt.  Nina Powers Green was the wife of Lake Green.  The parents of Lake Green were Austin B. "Ott" and wife Sarah "Sis" (Lake) Green, daughter of Vince and wife Amy (Ervin) Lake.  The parents of Austin B. "Ott" Green were Adam Clark "Nidy" and wife Matilda (Smart) Green.  The parents of Adam Clark "Nidy" Green were George and Diadema (Willison) Green.  Adam was a brother to Mahala Green, the wife of Bazil Butt.

Harold Butt was a brother to the Darwin Butt mentioned above, both were sons of John Corwin "Jack" Butt and wife Francis Hill and grand sons of Hazel Rignal "Tode" and wife Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.

I have no information about who Emil Butt was.

This is the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Hazel Rignal and wife Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt taken May 22, 1911.  They were married May 20, 1861.  It was sent to me in the late `90's by R M Green.  See below photo for ID's.

3rd Row: Grace (Butt) Buck, Everet Buck (boy in front of Elsie), Elsie (Butt) Longshore, Nancy Ann " Tidy" (Tippett) Butt, Hazel Rignal "Tode" Butt, Miles Edwin Butt, John Corwin "Jack" Butt, Friend "Tidy" Butt, Harry Butt, Horton James Butt

2nd Row:  Harold Butt,  M A Butt (Barrick) Koneta Butt (Heisler), Edna Butt (Riley ___ Fuller), Dorothy Butt (Lake), Robert Butt, Mary Butt, Amil Butt

Front row:  Ruth Butt (Brenon/Brennan), Francis Longshore, Meryl Butt, Vernon Butt

The Horton James Butt in the 3rd row here was married to Emma King who is in the back row holding their oldest child Mildred (who married Aubyn Cooper).  Horton was a son of Hazel Rignal "Tode" Butt.  Horton and Emma had at least two other children; James V. Butt, b. 1909, and Byron.  Byron became an army air force officer and flew with Billy B. Southworth of Sundbury, Ohio.  Here's a newspaper article about the two of them.

Byron was a gr grandson of Bazil and Mahala and my 2nd cousin 1 time removed.

is a picture of the family of Mr. & Mrs. Friend "Tidy" Butt.  As mentioned, Friend "Tidy" Butt was the son of Hazel Rignal "Tode" and wife Nancy Ann "Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.  Hazel Rignal being the son of Bazil and Mahala.

This is Rosa May (Butt) Barber, great grand daughter of John Butt and second wife Sarah Houston.

This is a post card from Marie Butt to my grand father Squire George Butt.  Marie Butt (correct name as Eva Marie) was the daughter of William Ervin and wife Margaret Estelle "Maggie (Haugh) Butt.  William E. Butt was the son of Noah Fasset "Woof" and wife Lucinda (Kasson) Butt.  Marie and Squire were 1st cousins, one time removed.  Marie married Edward Waller.

This is the Milton Day, wife Hattie "Hat" (Green) Day and son Harold.  Harold was born in 1899 so this picture was taken in 1908.  The "uncle" referred to is Morgan Green Butt.

Milton Day's parents were Squire John Day and Abi Adelia (Butt) Day.  Abi Adelia Butt was Morgan Green Butt's sister.

Hattie Green's parents were Benjamine and wife Elizabeth (Clouse) Green.  The parents of Benjamine Green were Rignal Green Jr. and wife Sarah Willison.  Rignal Green Jr. was the uncle of Mahala (Green) Butt, wife of Bazil Butt.  Sarah Willison was the sister of Diadema Willison, Mahala's mother.  So she was Mahala's true aunt as well.

All these people are obviously related.  Some I can place, some I cannot.  Below the picture I will describe the relationships I can.

Here is the same picture that has been marked up....it was sent to me by Snow Flower.

Here's Casper Hartsock and his wife, Nancy Horn.

Phillip Horn and Mary Butt were married in Shepherdstown, VA on January 4, 1819.  "A" Samuel Butt was the Suretor at that wedding.  It is my considered opinion that Samuel Butt, b. 1/14/1777 was that Suretor and that this Samuel Butt was the father of Mary (Butt) Horn.  I have no clue's whatsoever, about who Mary's mother might have been.  This Samuel Butt, on April 3, 1823, in Licking County, Ohio, married Fanny Brake, daughter of Abraham and Sarah (Green) Brake; Abraham being from Hardy County, VA.  It seems certain that these Brake people and all Fanny's relatives.

Phillip and Mary (Butt) Horn had 6 children that I know of.  One was Nancy who married Casper Hartsock.  Their names are underlined above for easy identification.

Casper and Nancy (Horn) Hartsock had eleven children that I know of, one of whom was Ada Belle "Addie" Hartsock who is pictured above and below.  Addie married Basil Carleton Butt who is pictured both above and below, as well.

The parents of Basil Carlton Butt were George William and Mary Ann (Robbins) Butt.  The parents of George William Butt were John and Sarah (Houston) Butt.  From DNA we know that this John Butt, b. 1788, Samuel Butt, b. 1/14/1777 and Bazil Butt, b. 3/13/1797 were very closely related.  And as mentioned above, I believe Mary (Butt) Horn, the mother of this Nancy (Horn) Hartsock, was very closely related to these men as well.

The parents of Chris (Christopher Columbus) Needles were Robert Kile and Sarah Noras (Butt) Needles.  The parents of Sarah Noras Butt were John and Sarah (Houston) Butt.

Carrie M. Brake, b. 1891 married Charles Piper.  The parents of Carrie Brake were George and Rachel (Hartsock) Brake, both of whom are pictured above; Rachel being the daughter of Casper and Nancy (Horn) Hartsock.

The parents of Everett Brake were also George and Rachel (Hartsock) Brake.  Everett married Ethyl DeWitt.  Millie Brake, also the daughter of George and Rachel (Hartsock) Brake married Harold Needles on April 6, 1912.

I have no information about any Wickhiser.  This is very strange.

Here are the other people in this picture about whom I have no further information.  I would be happy to receive any and all information about any of them that anyone/everyone has.

This is a picture of the children of Friend "Tida" and wife Emma (Knorr) Butt.  Emma being the daughter of Christian Knorr and wife Rosa Brown.  Friend Butt was the son of Hazel Rignal "Tode" and wife Nancy Ann "Tidy" (Tippett) Butt.  These kids therefore would be the grand children of Tode and Tidy.

Here is a picture of the house in which Mahala (Green) Butt was born.  In "The Writings Of Toad Butt" Section you will find a picture of Lizzy Brockham in front of her two-story log house.  The similarity between that house and this one are stricking.

Here are some Willison pictures, provided by Polly Horn.

Last year a cousin found this stone in the still active Manor Hill Cemetery which is between Jackson Corner and Manor Hill, PA.  I think there are two cemeteries listed as being in Manor Hill; one being Methodist, the other being Presbyterian.  I'm not sure which one this stone is in.

In any event, this stone is in the same cemetery as are those of Richard Sinkey and his wife, Brigit.  Richard and Brigit Sinkey had a son William whose wife was Mary McCartney.  William and Mary Sinkey's son Mathew was marred to Nancy Houston.  Nancy being the daughter of Andrew Houston and wife Elizabeth Green.  This William Sinkey and wife Mary McCartney would have been of the same generation as Andrew and Elizabeth Houston.

As best I can determine, the inscription on this stone is:

If this is correct, she would have been born ~9/6/1812.  The grave of Mary's husband George Green is thought not to be in this same cemetery.

I have searched all the GREEN information I have and have not been able to find this George Green.

Here are five more photo's taken in this area at the same time.

Canton, Iowa where my grand mother Hattie Eva Nettie (Willman) Butt grew up was at one time, bigger than Dubuque, Iowa.  Hattie's father, Henry "Hank" Willman was a cabinet maker in that town.

Here's an interesting article about the town.

Here are some maps and pictures of a couple of of the buildings in that town.

Here's an 1893 map of the town.  Note the location of the Post Office.  The Public School still stands there today.  Nothing remains of the town on the East side of the river.

Below in the third column it says; "They still talk about a cabinetmaker named 'Dutch Hank' whose skill at working birdseye maple became a legend".  Dutch Hank (Henry Wilman) was my gr grandfather.  He was the father of Hattie Eva Nettie (Wilman) Butt.  Hank is buried in the Canton Cemetery.  A picture of him, his wife Belle (Stahl) Wilman and their headstone is directly below this article.
